Ambition Quote

Salvador Dali once quoted, "Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings." This quote is saying that you can be the smartest person in the world, but if you don't have any goals or dreams, and you don't have he ambition and drive to reach those goals, then you are worth nothing. This quote is true because no one without ambition goes anywhere in life you have to have drive and work hard for things. This can be clearly seen in the book Efrain's Secret by Sofia Quintero. There is at least three examples already of Efrain's friends and family that show ambition and also no ambition. The first example is Efraine's old best friend Nester. Nester had no ambition for school so he dropped out and became a drug dealer. The second is Efraine, he has a ton of intelligence and has goals to go to an ivy league college so he studies every night for hours. The third one is Efraine's other best friend Chingy. Chingy is really smart but he has no ambitions in his life to go to college after highschool or do anything good with his life.

Ambition

My theme is Ambition. I chose Efrain's Secret because its about a boy who is about my age who is trying to get into an ivy league college. Hes a poor kid but hes very ambitious to get to his goals so he starts to break the laws to make money. Im very anxious to read this book!

Hero

I think a hero can be anyone who does something outstanding or courageous. In my life my big brother is the biggest hero to me. He has seen and done so many crazy things. First he joined the army at eighteen. at nineteen years old he went over seas to fight in Afghanistan. After only one month over there we received a phone call one morning saying that my brother had been injured in a roadside bomb. The people said he wasn't in danger of dying but he was injured. MY brother was sent to a hospital in Germany and as soon as he was well, he went back to Afghanistan instead of going home. Ten months later when my brother returned he was rewarded a purple heart for his braveness. I look up to my brother more than anybody else and he is a major hero to me.
